Compatibility: A major benefit of Dentrix

I just got a new computer at the office. It’s fast and I like the new features. But, one of the software packages I use isn’t compatible with my new PC. So, I had to call tech support and ultimately I had to buy the new version oand spend money I hadn’t planned.  Don’t you hate it when that happens?

In the reverse, one the major benefits of having the Dentrix dental practice management software is that just about everything is compatible. I cannot remember the last new technology product or software that I seriously considered purchasing for the practice that didn’t work with Dentrix. In fact, my experience is that Dentrix is the first (and often only) dental practice management software that a new technology company supports.

Here are two examples of brand new companies that offer unique, interesting products and they each chose Dentrix as the first practice management software to be compatible with:

  • Yapi – a new communication system that replaces the old light system in the operatory
  • Weave – software and a proprietary VoIP phone system to bring up patient info as the phone rings along with a tasklist of items to discuss with that patient

It’s fun to check out new technology products and see how they might help the practice. Thanks to Dentrix, I never worry that thew new product won’t be compatible.

    Hi Jill,
    Good luck in Boston by the way. I came across Weave in a dental journal and googled weave any dentrix. Guess who’s face popped up? Anyway, what have you heard about this? It’s been a while since your original post, but let me know if you know anyone who has tried it and if it is as smooth as it sounds.

  • Have a demo scheduled with Get Weave tomorrow. Just wondering about the companies rating and if there is anything I should be concerned with if I do choice to use them. Are there any reviews out there on them?

      I talked with this vendor at the ADA last month – they seem to be successful, expanding into relationships with other dental software companies & continuing their coordination with Dentrix (apparently they are right down the street!). I would recommend looking at your 5 year costs to really see what you will be paying, and then compare that against how you will be able to take advantage (and train your team) of all they offer.

      I’d love to hear your thoughts if you decide to work with them – I’m sure others would as well!
