As one of the few MBAs in dentistry, I am available for dental practice management coaching on Thursdays (since I am currently working for my group practice other days). I manage this dental practice based on our uniquely designed series of dental staff training manuals. Thanks to this approach, our practice was one of 19 dental practices nationwide to achieve accreditation from the American Academy of Ambulatory Health Care (www.aaahc.org) plus statewide recognition for organizational excellence based on the Baldrige criteria (www.quality.nist.gov).
I provide custom coaching for dentists who would like to measurably improve their practice. You choose the subject you are concerned about and we can talk about what you would like to achieve. I will provide you a proposal that will allow you to measure your success so you will see in black and white that you are receiving value for your investment.
For example, let’s say the office manager and dentist are concerned about filling the schedule. We would talk about the existing approach in the practice and find a way to measure the existing performance. Once the dentist and office manager agree on the problem, then we will develop a new system, implement it throughout the practice and then measure the performance at regular intervals to track our success.
In addition to custom coaching, I also provide a comprehensive dental staff training approach. This online training is available on a subscription basis, and provides not only a clear structure for dental staff training and advancement but also compensation and raises. Each task is written in detail including why the task is important and how to accomplish the task. This is an excellent way for dentists to train their staff against measurable criteria and pay them fairly. These task by task detailed instructions include all significant functions so staff and dentists know exactly what is expected. It also gives the dentist a clear approach to oversee staff performance.
This online dental staff training program is now available. I have managed our group practice using this system for 15+ years and have completed a pilot program with two dental practices that are currently using this system.
